About Us
Gary and Bambi Palmer own and operate Deep Creek Outfitters/Palmer Ranch in the heart of the South Dakota prairie. Gary started by leasing the land in the 1980’s, and ended up purchasing the ranch in 2000. He grew up just 5 miles away and worked on the ranch as a young man. He has intimate knowledge of the land and wildlife on the ranch. He is out on the land everyday working and knows the quality and quantity of deer and turkey available. He knows their habits and behavior. Using that knowledge he has strategically placed hunting stands/huts around the areas that deer frequent. Bambi’s delicious home-cooking will ensure you are fueled up before the hunt and are refueled after the hunt. They will ensure that you feel at home the minute you arrive. The rolling prairie is deceiving until you arrive at the ranch and see the wooded creek bottoms and draws that hold hundreds of white-tail deer and turkey. Mule deer are numerous too, and they are bound to appear out of nowhere in all parts of the ranch. Pronghorn antelope frequent the prairie flats and hay fields.

33,000 acres of rolling grasslands, wooded creek bottoms, wooded draws, alfalfa and wheat fields.
Game Offered
Rifle White-tail Deer and Mule Deer: $3,250 for 5 days/6 nights. Package includes lodging, guiding, all meals, transportation to and from the field, and assistance with field dressing.
*Double deer hunts are available with the appropriate tag. Shoot the second buck for $2,400.
Archery Deer: $2,000 for 5 days/6 nights which includes lodging, semi-guided hunt, meals, field transportation, and assistance with field dressing.
Rifle Pronghorn Antelope: $2,250 for 4 days/5 nights which includes lodging, meals, guiding, field transportation, and assistance with field dressing.
Archery Pronghorn Antelope: $1,500 for 5 days/6 nights which includes semi-guided hunt, lodging, meals, field transportation, and assistance with field dressing.
Turkey: $1,250 for 2 turkeys; $850 for 1 turkey. 3 days/4 nights which includes semi-guided hunt, lodging, meals, field transportation and assistance with bird cleaning.
Prairie Dog: $250/person/day which includes semi-guided hunt, lodging, and meals. Taking a maximum of 5 hunters per group.
**50% deposit required at time of booking. Prices do not include gratuities, license, shells, hunting gear, or taxes.
Lodging:
Fully furnished, up to date ranch house with satellite TV and enclosed 3 season porch. Sleeps a maximum of 10 hunters. The lodge is clean and comfortable; you will not be disappointed.
Bed and Breakfast Price: $90/night for 2 guests and includes breakfast. Other meals can be arranged for extra $.
Meals:
Home-cooked meals are included in the packages listed above. Lodge has a fully furnished kitchen as well.
